Are great designers born ...or are they made? While there are people who seem destined for the creative domain when they pick up their first piece of Lego, it's also important to realize that design thinking is a teachable model for problem solving. Design thinking is kind of like the scientific method for the creative class. To be effective, good designers must consider the problem from all angles and then come up with an array of solutions to see what works the best for time, cost and feasibility. But that's not the end of it. Design thinking also lays out a framework for continuing to iterate towards an ever more refined solution. When you see it like that, design thinking isn't something that is only useful for designers but to anyone that wants to improve their business, relationships and personal goals. After all, isn't life just one big design project?
