Arts Council for Long Beach is pleased to invite you to our annual State of the Arts event, which for the first time will be hosted in partnership with the Mayor's Office. In another first, the event will be held at the Museum of Latin American Art, one of Long Beach's most outstanding cultural institutions. At the event, we will unveil an exciting new project as well as a new grant.
The heart of the occasion will be to recognize the extraordinary work and commitment of five individuals and organizations making our city a great place to live, work and create. The five awards are James H. Ackerman Arts Philanthropist, Arts Volunteer, Arts Educator, Arts Innovator and Economic Development Arts Trailblazer. Mayor Garcia himself will present the awards during a brief ceremony, preceded by a networking reception.
A networking reception preceding the announcements and ceremony will include live music and a continental breakfast in MoLAA’s beautiful outdoor sculpture garden.
