About the Institute of Technology Advancement
The Institute of Technology Advancement (ITA) is an off-campus technology development center established by the UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science to accelerate the transition of high-impact innovative research from UCLA to technology development and commercialization. Start-up funding for the institute was donated by the Henry and Susan Samueli and the Easton Foundation.
OIP-ISR supports UCLA's research, education and service mission by
- Commercializing intellectual property rights;
- Facilitating collaborations with industry for next-generation scientific breakthroughs;
- Advancing UCLA entrepreneurship and research;
- while Protecting the university’s interests by managing risk; and
- Promoting economic growth in California.
CNSI
The California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) is an integrated research facility with locations at UCLA and UC Santa Barbara. Its mission is to encourage university collaboration with industry and to enable the rapid commercialization of discoveries in nanoscience and nanotechnology. CNSI members who are on the faculty at UCLA and UCSB represent a multi-disciplinary team of some of the world's preeminent scientists from the life and physical sciences, engineering, and medicine. The work conducted at the CNSI represents world-class expertise in four targeted areas of nanosystems-related research including Energy, Environment, Health-Medicine, and Information Technology.
