The day will consist of speakers from industry, educators and former alumni. Congressman Tony Cardenas will be kicking off the day to promote and encourage students to consider great career opportunities in the manufacturing fields.The day will also include several local manufacturing firms sharing information on their products and processes. A tour of the LAVC Engineering Dept. with demos in CAD/CAM and CNC lab. The public is enrouraged to attend to learn about job training opportunities, certificate and two-year programs.

Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC) is one of 9 community colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District, the largest district in the country. Located in the heart of the San Fernando Valley, LAVC was established in1949 and enrolls between 17 and 20 thousand student per year. The Job Training Department assists displaced/dislocated workers with re-training in areas including Biotech Manufacturing and Advanced Manufacturing. For close to 30 yeards, the college has been partnered with the San Fernando Valley Chapter of the National Tooling & Machining Association.
