Apply below to participate in the Cal State L.A. Fight the Ladykiller Codeathon.
Building upon the powerful intersection of technology and social impact, this codeathon will challenge Cal State L.A. students and other area student developers and designers to build original and innovative prototypes focused on women’s heart health. Students will build unique digital prototypes that will aid in the fight against heart disease—the number one killer of women in the US.
Industry leaders from the tech, design, and health fields will mentor participants and select the winning prototype after each team presents its ideas at the close of the event. The winning team will have an opportunity to hone its prototype and develop it with the help and guidance of the Clinton Foundation’s Health Matters Initiative, The Women’s Heart Alliance, and staff and faculty from Cal State L.A..
The Codeathon will also incorporate healthy-living principles during the event by providing nutritious food options and stretch and exercise breaks led by Cal State L.A. athletics.
The codeathon will end with each team presenting its prototypes to a panel of expert judges working in the fields of technology and social innovation. The winning team will receive:
- Free tickets to see the Los Angeles Lakers
- A complimentary night at the Ace Hotel
- A trip to attend the 2016 Clinton Health Matters Activation Summit, an annual event that showcases ways in which individuals, corporate leaders, athletes, and health and wellness experts can contribute to solutions that positively impact health and well-being for people and communities across the country.
